Employees' children's day at Bauer
Schrobenhausen, Germany – Where to take the children on the “Buß- und Bettag” (German public holiday in November)? A legitimate question, at least in Bavaria. While schools are closed on this Protestant holiday, most parents have to go to work. BAUER AG has a solution to help its employees out of this predicament: The company once again set up an employee children's day for kids between first and sixth grade with a colorful program.
In previous years, Bauer had already offered childcare for employees' children on this specific public holiday. During Corona, the event was of course canceled. "It's is great that we can finally offer this service again," says organizer Sabrina Froehlich-Krammer. And the parents are also happy about it, as she reports: "We received so much positive feedback during registration." Together with her team and a total of almost 40 helpers, the project manager has once again come up with some great ideas for the 100 children.
A wide range of activities awaited the employees' offspring. After the meeting point in the Old Welding Shop, the children were divided into different groups according to age. The tour then took them across the Bauer company premises.
A visit to the repro station with its oversized printers was on the agenda, as was a visit to Mini-World in the Bauer Museum – a real eye-catcher that always elicits many "oohs" and "ahhs" from almost all age groups. The training workshop with its various workstations, the large CAD printer and the forge made a particularly good impression on the older children.
The children had also a lot of fun on the obstacle course. The motto was "We're going to the construction site." Equipped with safety vests and helmets, they had to master various tasks. At the end, a well-earned snack awaited the many hard-working participants.
A guided tour of the Aresing plant was of course a must. Experiencing the large machines and machine parts in production up close was an absolute highlight of the morning for many of the young visitors. After lunch, they finally went home at half past one - almost like a normal school day.
And how did the children like the day? Noel (10) took part for the second time: "I really enjoyed the day, especially the fact that we got to see the plant in Aresing and all the big machines there. I'd like to drive them one day." Anna (10) was there for the first time: "It was great. The Mini World and the trip to the plant in Aresing were the best - but actually everything was great." Magdalena (8) also found the Mini World particularly impressive: "But the course, where we had to drive around and complete tasks, was also a lot of fun." One thing is certain: Everyone is already looking forward to next time.
