360 degrees of special foundation: Bauer welcomed around 1,900 guests from 72 countries to its in-house exhibition
• RTG presented the new eRG 21 T hybrid
• Further highlights: SPEX 4 configuration on a BG and Smart Grab Assistant for hydraulic grabs
• Also machines from KLEMM, Bauer MAT and other Bauer Maschinen subsidiaries
• Colorful supporting program including live demonstrations, factory tours and a Bavarian evening
Schrobenhausen, Germany – Life in the small Bavarian town of Schrobenhausen is rather calm most of the time. But once a year, the who's who of the special foundation engineering world meets here, namely whenever BAUER Maschinen GmbH invites visitors to its in-house exhibition. On April 25th, the time had come again: at 11 a.m., Peter Hingott, Member of the Executive Board of BAUER AG, and Dr. Ruediger Kaub, Chairman of the Management Board of BAUER Maschinen GmbH, opened the traditional event in the presence of numerous invited guests from Germany and abroad. "Our aim is to be an innovation leader, a premium supplier and a reliable, long-term partner that can offer its customers not only products, but also solutions," said Peter Hingott in his opening speech. And Dr. Ruediger Kaub emphasized: "We look at the entire construction site and not just one small part of a drilling rig or a cutter. It is important to us to provide you with comprehensive support in your task of realizing a project. Together with Bauer Maschinen, our customers become more efficient and economical from project to project.”
Versatile drilling rigs
True to this year's event motto "360 degrees of special foundation", guests were once again treated to an impressive demonstration of equipment for special foundation engineering. A total of 28 exhibits – 16 in Schrobenhausen and twelve at the nearby plant in Aresing – were on display for visitors to take a closer look and experience all facets of special foundation. And since drilling rigs are known to be among the core products of the BAUER Maschinen Group, they – equipped with various attachments, tools and assistance systems – once again formed the largest group in terms of numbers, with nine rigs on display, ranging from the BG 15 H to the BG 42 VL. In particular, the SPEX 4 configuration on a BG 23 H attracted a lot of attention. With this special single-pass extreme configuration, it is possible to achieve a drilling depth of up to 27 m using the Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) method with a compact drilling rig with an operating weight of only 79 t. The innovative rope arrangement of SPEX 4 increases the total retraction force by a further 30 %. The active pull-down force through the crowd winch system for penetrating hard and compact soil layers is still available without any changes.
Robust diaphragm wall technology
The diaphragm wall business unit was represented with an MC 96 including a BC 48 cutter and EcoCut. The BAUER Cutter System BCS 185, which has been conquering the market since last year, was also presented in Aresing. The innovative Smart Grab Control assistant was also demonstrated on a MC 76. This is regarded as a real game changer in the industry, as it makes working with mechanical grabs much safer and easier. For hydraulic grabs the brand new assistant Smart Grab was introduced and attracted attention.
Hybrid pile driving technology
RTG Rammtechnik GmbH once again presented a real innovation for telescopic leader pile drivers. The company had already launched a hybrid version of its RG 19 T in 2022. This year, visitors to the exhibition were able to see the performance of the eRG 19 T hybrid for themselves in a live demonstration. The real highlight, however, was the presentation of the brand-new eRG 21 T hybrid. Compared to a purely diesel-powered equipment, it consumes up to 50% less fuel, which in turn has a significantly positive effect on CO2 emissions. The machine fits seamlessly into the RTG portfolio, which can now also offer all telescopic leaders as hybrid versions.
Versatile supporting program
Last but not least, the other subsidiaries of the BAUER Maschinen Group were once again represented. KLEMM Bohrtechnik GmbH, for example, presented a selection of its portfolio, consisting of extremely compact drilling rigs with variable kinematics, powerful anchor drilling rigs in various performance classes and energy-efficient geothermal drilling rigs with high drilling performance. BAUER MAT Slurry Handling Systems presented its impressive, two-story BE 600-C desanding plant. In the Old Welding Shop – the company's own event hall – there were also booths from the Water Energy Mining (WEM), Parts & Service and Maritime Technologies units, the companies Spantec and Eurodrill and the BAUER Training Center division. In addition, the supporting program with factory tours, equipment demonstrations and a Bavarian evening left nothing to be desired – around 1,100 people had registered in advance for the latter alone.
"All in all, it was another successful event for us, with which we were once again able to show that we are one of the very few full-service providers for the entire range of special foundation engineering machines," summarized Dr. Ruediger Kaub. "With our technologies and our solutions, we provide our customers with everything they need to build the foundations for the world of tomorrow. That's why customers choose us time and time again.”
